    Week Beginning 18th July 2016

Coming up in the final week of term…

On Tuesday 19th July, Year One will be visiting Gatton Park to consolidate their learning about ‘Amazing Animals’. They will be participating in a nature trail and exploring a pond habitat! Children in Year One need to arrive at school at the normal time with a packed lunch and still drink (no cans or fizzy drinks please). All children should wear their Hayes t-shirt or sweatshirt with trousers (no jeans please) and comfortable trainers which might get muddy…wellies and a rain mac if it is particularly wet – we sincerely hope it won’t be! Sun cream should be applied if it is hot and each child should bring a sun hat. There is no need for children to bring spending money on this occasion.

Year Six are also visiting Whyteleafe Park on Tuesday where they will be participating in a range of outdoor sports and activities. Appropriate clothing for the weather will also need to be worn on this day. All children will need to be wearing trainers and have a packed lunch and water bottle with them (there are no water fountains available in the park). Children will be travelling on public transport and are planning to arrive back at school by 3.10pm. A text update will be sent to parents upon arrival at Kenley Station, where children can be collected if more convenient. All remaining children will walk up to school with school staff.

On Wednesday afternoon we will be holding an assembly for our staff leavers so that all children have a chance to say good-bye. As in previous bulletins, if you would like to contribute to collections for our long term members of staff who will be leaving us, please contact the office.

There will be a cake sale in the playground, after school on Thursday 21st July to raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Society. Some of our Year Six mums will be taking part in a sponsored event for the charity in August! We wish you luck and hope you raise lots of money! Please donate kindly!

Friday is the last day of the academic year. We will be having a second leavers assembly for children moving on to pastures new. We wish everyone leaving us this year the best of luck in all that they do in the future!

Please remember that all library books should be returned to school by the end of the week and all P.E kits and any lost property must be collected and taken home. Any remaining items from Lost Property will be donated to the PTA to sell or donate to charity. Many thanks.

Collection time on the last day of term is at 1.30pm.

From all the staff at the Hayes Primary, we wish you a happy and healthy summer holiday and look forward to seeing you all again in September! J
