  • Week Commencing 2nd May 2016

    Fri 29 Apr 2016 Mrs M Masters

     Week beginning 2nd May 2016

    Coming up next week…

On Monday the school will be closed for the Mayday Bank Holiday. We wish everyone a very enjoyable (and hopefully sunny) weekend!

On Tuesday we will be welcoming the Croydon Schools’ Sports Partnership into school to work with some of our Year 5 children, in training them as ‘Play Leaders’. We endeavour that this initiative will support all children across the school to have happy playtimes by improving their play opportunities at break and lunchtimes.

We wish the best of luck to our tennis stars who will be competing at a tournament run by the Croydon Schools’ Sports Partnership, on Wednesday at Reedham School.

We would also like to say “Congratulations” to Miss Langham, who will be attending her formal graduation ceremony on Wednesday. Well done!

A reminder that Thursday 5th May is a Polling Day and as such the school will be closed.

  • Week commencing 25/4/16

    Fri 22 Apr 2016

    Week beginning 25th April 2016

    Coming up next week…

On Monday morning we will be having a demonstration from “J’aimes Gym” during assembly time. We hope this will encourage lots more children to want to sign up for the morning club which currently runs on a Tuesday morning from 8.00-8.45am. Please speak to the office if your child is interested in securing a place.

We also have a number of music lesson slots available within the school day for any children who may be interested in taking up a musical instrument. All tuition needs to be booked through the Croydon Schools Music Association. Please speak to the school office for further information.

Next week we are lucky to have “Explore Learning” in to school to lead some ‘National Young Writers’ workshops across the school. We hope they will be able to give some valuable and encouraging tips to our budding young writers and we are looking forward to their visits.

On Friday morning we are extremely excited to be welcoming some visitors to school to perform “The Wizard of Oz”. This will be followed up with workshops for children in Years 5 and 6, to further explore the story and its characters.

And finally, there is nervous yet excited energy buzzing around school today as everyone awaits the start of our “Hayes Got Talent” performance which takes place this evening. We are looking forward to seeing everybody, performers and audience alike…we hope you are as excited as we are!

To clarify for everyone, performers need to arrive at 5.45pm (no earlier please). The doors will open at 6.00p.m and the show starts at 6.30pm.
