Explore learning will be working with our Year 3 and 4 children again this week, extending the children with challenging mathematics activities.
Some children will be attending the Croydon Schools swimming Gala on Thursday 29th January. Good luck to our super swimmers that will be representing The Hayes.
On Friday 30th our Year 5/6 netball team are playing a Hi 5 tournament at Archbishop Lanfranc during the afternoon. We wish them all the best of luck.
As the weather has become a little colder recently, please could you ensure that your contact details are up to date in case we have unexpected snowfall and have no option but to close the school. We will, of course, always endeavour to keep the school open in the event of bad weather but as you know sometimes we have no option to close if staff are unable to get to work. In the event of snow, please do check the school website for information about school opening times. If we are in the unfortunate position that we need to close we will also notify you by text message and e-mail. We do have a snow buddy system set up so that in extreme weather conditions there is an additional contact that may be able to collect your child, e.g. in the event of early school closure, if you think you may have difficulties getting back from work in time. I have attach this form onto your e-mail or there are plenty in the school office if you would like to complete one and have not done so. Please hand these into the office.
May we remind you that during normal weather conditions, if you need your children to go home with a different adult, even if it is an adult from our school, this must be confirmed by the parent. In the interests of child safety we won’t be allowing children to go with someone else unless we already know about this in advance. Please let us know through a short note or a call to the office if you are delayed so that we can warn your child and reassure them. Thank you.
Please see the attached flier on your e-mail regarding holiday clubs with Crystal Palace Football Club.
We are continuously updating our class and school libraries. If you have any good quality texts that your children no longer read and you would be willing to donate them to school, we would be extremely grateful. Please send these into the office or to your class teacher.
May we take this opportunity to thank you all for your ongoing support with the children at home and towards the school and our fundraising events.
