Week Commencing 14th March 2016

Week Beginning 14th March 2016

The children are already getting excited about our ‘Hayes has talent’ competition that will be coming up after Easter.  Children need to apply by the 21st March, please see the PTA pages on the website for further details.

On Monday 14th March our Junior children taking part in the CSMA will have a rehearsal at the Fairfield Halls this morning.  Our Year 3 children are also off to Wisley Gardens  for their school visit, we do hope that the weather stays sunny for them and that they have a fantastic day.

On Tuesday 15th March Mrs Richardson’s dance troupe will attend their final rehearsal at the Fairfield Halls during the morning, before their performance this evening which will be at 6pm.  Please see additional letters for more details if your child is performing in this event.  Also on Tuesday Mrs Farr is running a phonics workshop for Year 2 parents at 3.30pm.

Wednesday 16th March is ‘Science day’ at The Hayes to mark Science week.  The theme is ‘Spaces for science- Science in spaces’.   The children across the school will all be have a fun filled scientific day with activities linked to spaces- starting from as close as our outdoor space to as far away as Outer Space!

Also on Wednesday 16th March our Year 2 parents are invited to attend a phonics workshop at 9am.  We also invite all parents of children in Year 5 to attend a meeting about their upcoming residential visit to Carroty Wood at 5pm.  This will be an opportunity for you to find out more about the arrangements and activities and ask any questions.

On Thursday 17th March Year 3 will be having a French day at school.

Children need to come in dressed up in French clothes and bring in some French food to taste, it sounds fantastic.   We look forward to seeing their costumes.  Thank you to our Year 3 parents for providing the food for this event.   Bonne journée!    On Thursday the children taking part in the Infant CSMA will attend a rehearsal at The Fairfield Halls during the morning.

Also on Thursday 17th March Caterlink will be providing a special menu for St Patricks Day for our children who have school meals for lunch.

On Friday 18th March Class 2 will be leading our Whole School Assembly.  If you have a child in Mrs Shaikh’s class and would like to join us, this will start at 9.15am in the school hall, we look forward to seeing you there.

Also on Friday 18th March it is our school open afternoon, from 2.00-3.00pm. Please do try to come in a look at your children’s learning. They are always keen to share with you and show you what they have been up to and the class displays are looking fantastic! May we politely request that you do not bring buggies or younger siblings to this event as fitting 30 children and 30 parents into our classrooms is a challenge in itself!
