Week beginning 30th November

Week beginning 30th September

It’s been another busy week here at The Hayes with the Infants enjoying a performance of The Gruffalo as part of their English work, Year 3 taking part in both a Sound workshop and a trip to Butser Ancient Farm, as well as a fantastic class assembly from Class 3. We’ve also had 3 sporting events with our footballers winning their match against Kenley 7-0 and the athletics and cross country events proving also very successful. Thank you to all members of staff and parents who have made this another great week by giving up your time to organise and/or attend!

Coming up this week…

Today (Saturday) is our fabulous Christmas Fair which takes place between 12pm and 3pm. Please do come along if you are free as you are bound to have a brilliant time! Much planning has gone into this event and we thank the PTA under the capable command of Jo Doble who have given yet again so freely of their time to transform the school into a Christmas …

On Wednesday, some of Year 1 will be having their hearing tests in school. The rest will be tested next week. You should already have received information about this.

Year 6 are participating in a Viking Day in school on Thursday. We know you will have a great day! There is also a football match after school this day at Harris Kenley. Children need to be collected from school by 3.00pm for a 3.30pm kick-off. The match should be finished shortly after 4pm. If your child is not playing in the match, there will not be any football for him after school.

The annual CSMA Carol Concert takes place at Fairfield Halls on Friday which some of our Drama Club pupils are performing in. You will already have been advised if your child is participating and been made aware of the arrangements for this. The rest of Year 5 and 6 will be attending as the audience and will travel to East Croydon by train. Please ensure your children are in full school uniform and have a packed lunch with them for the day as they will return too late to school to have a school dinner.

Our termly open afternoon is on Friday as well between 2 and 3pm. We’d really encourage you to attend as this is a good opportunity to see the work that your child has completed in class over the Autumn Term. You are welcome to take your child home with you at the end of your visit, instead of waiting to school finishing time. However, if your child is in the Drama Club, please do not take them home!! They will be rehearsing for the Christmas Production after school until 5pm – please do note this later finishing time for the next 2 weeks.

Have a great weekend.
