Week Beginning 25th March 2018

WB 26.3.18

We have had another busy week at the Hayes that has shown off the talents of our children and staff.

The Junior Choir performed brilliantly on Monday night at Trinity School in the Croydon Schools Music Association. They learned 1000s of words and nine songs and performed them with 390 other children and in front of a full house. They were massively prepared for this, rehearsing every Tuesday for months and this showed. The evening was spectacular nd was enjoyed by all furthermore, it was conducted by our very own Head Teacher Miss Slade. Well done all!

On Tuesday our girls’ football team played at the School Games Final in Redbridge. They are the best team in Croydon and are now the 9th team in London. They played incredibly well – teamwork, skill and care for each other was in abundance. Well done girls! Y3 went to Port Lympe for the day as part of their IPC topic which was most enjoyable.

On Wednesday, Y4 Soundstart had an opportunity to perform to the Juniors which was their 1st official event. They played really well and with confidence – amazing performances considering they have only been playing since six months. Then there was Sports Relief on Friday! What an amazing day, full of challenges with teachers (and impromptu planking with the HT, Ms Langan, Mrs Spinks and some boys with large smiles – don’t ask), Zumbathon, sponsored activities and our rendition of the Sports Relief song. It was an up-beat day and all we will never forget the sea of children and staff who took part in the zumba dancing – an amazing sigh and full of joy. Please look at our Twitter account for photos and more will be uploaded to the website during the Easter holidays. Go Team Active Hayes! We look forward to seeing the final total to raise money to tackle critical issues affecting people across the UK and the world.

Well done to our life savers who took part in the 'It's a Fish Out' at Dorking Leisure Centre on Saturday. They gave it their all, their manners were second to none and they put on a spectacular show of teamwork, guts and determination. Thank you to all the parents who supported the school and their children by attending the event.

Congrats to all our children who took part in events this week, you are all amazing and make us very proud thank you also to the parents/carers who helped or supported the events and our staffing team – you are all stars.
