Week Beginning Tuesday 23rd April 2019

Thank you to all of our wonderful children and families for another term of learning, fun and support. As we send the children home today for the Spring Break we wish you all a happy and restful holiday.

A huge congratulations to all of the children in the junior choir who performed at The Croydon Schools Music and Arts concert at Trinity School on Monday evening. They performed a highly entertaining range of songs for the audience to enjoy alongside 300 children from other Croydon schools. Well done also to Miss Slade who rehearsed the children for this event and conducted them during the evening.  It was a FANTASTIC show!

Also, a massive congratulations to both the Boys and Girls football teams who have both won their respective leagues…We are so proud of them! A big well done also to the mixed team who made it to the Primary Schools cup semi-final. Thanks to Miss Smith and to their parents for their ongoing support of these teams.

Here is what is coming up in the first week of the Summer Term…

We welcome back Mrs Farr on Tuesday who is returning from maternity leave. We are sure the children and parents in Safari class will have great fun getting to know Mrs Farr. We are delighted to have her back. Once more, we thank Mrs Duckett for the fantastic job she has done in covering this role. Mrs Duckett will continue to teach Safari class for 3 days a week.

May we please remind parents that the first day back is St Georges Day and therefore if your child attends a uniformed organisation such as Rainbows, Brownies, Cubs or Scouts, they are invited to wear their uniforms to mark this day.

May we please remind parents of children in Reception that after Easter we are beginning to improve the children’s levels of independence and therefore we politely ask that you drop your children off at the door and allow them to enter their classrooms on their own. Of course if you have any worries or concerns, please mention this to the member of staff on the door who will pass your message on to your child’s class teacher.

On Tuesday and Wednesday the auditions for the Hayes Got Talent competition will be taking place. We thank our PTA, particularly Mrs Raftery who has, once again, kindly agreed to organise this event. Those who have been successful in this process will be announced in Friday’s Achievement Assembly.

We wish good luck to the children participating in a tennis tournament on Wednesday and thank Miss Smith for organising this.

The School Council will be meeting on Thursday 25th at 12:30. If your child is their class rep, please remind them to have an early lunch on this day.

Miss Slade will be hosting her Head Teacher’s tea party on Thursday afternoon to congratulate one child from each class who has been recognised for working hard this term. Please look out for more information about these superstars coming up soon!

On Friday 26th April, Year 2 have a trip to the Florence Nightingale Museum. We are sure they will have a wonderful time and learn many facts about this inspirational person.

On Friday Evening the PTA will be holding a Film Club for your children to attend. They will be showing ‘Ralph Breaks the Internet’. This starts straight after school on Friday and finishes at 5:00. If your child wishes to attend, please purchase a ticket for them via the PTA events page. The price of the ticket also includes a drink and a snack.

Finally, we are pleased to announce that from this month through to July the Woodcote Green Fingered Kids scheme is back. This means for every £10 spent at Woodcote Green they will donate a 25p voucher for you to give to The Hayes to spend on anything in-store. Please pop the vouchers into the school office.

Have a great holiday, see you after the break.
