Week beginning 14th November 2022

Week beginning 14th November 2022.
We Will Remember Them: today in school we held a poignant and reflective assembly for Remembrance Day. The children listened, read, played and sang beautifully, showing their respect for those who gave their lives in the war. We are really proud of them.
Your selflessness and bravery will never be forgotten. #Remembranceday

Antibullying Week: next week is Antibullying Week and this year, the theme is ‘Reach Out!’. On Monday, the children are encouraged to wear odd socks to school in celebration of our unique differences and individuality! During the week there will be a special assembly to mark this event which aims to ensure that children have a clear understanding of the definition of bullying and know different ways that they can reach out in school and why this is important. There will also be an assembly led by ‘3 discovery’ on Monday morning followed up with Anti-Bullying themed workshops that run throughout the week.  We are excited to be working with 3-Discovery once more to develop our children’s digital literacy skills.

Reception Open Morning: on Tuesday we are hosting our Reception open morning where we welcome parents and carers of children due to start Reception in September 2023. If you have a younger sibling due to start school next year and you wish to attend, please sign up for a place on the school website. The meeting will involve a talk about the school from some members of the senior team and some pupil advocates and a tour of our facilities.

Class 11 Assembly: on Wednesday 16th November, we will be holding our first class assembly of the year and we are excited that this will be back IN PERSON! If you have a child in class 11 and you wish to come in and watch the class assembly, please join us in the school hall for a 9am start.

School Photographer: on Friday, our school photographer will be in to take individual and sibling photographs.  ALL children should come to school in full school uniform on this day. Those who would usually have PE may wear their trainers with their uniform.

Save the date! During the week of 21st November we will have the Scholastic Book Fair in school. We are aiming for it to be a cashless event so you will be able to purchase books using a QR code that will be displayed. There will be an opportunity to purchase books online if you are unable to make it after school. Please look out for further details nearer the time!

Christmas Fayre: a reminder of the Christmas Fayre which is on Saturday 26th November, 12-3pm. The PTA are taking donations all week, next week, for items for the Fayre. Every morning at drop off there will be 2 PTA members at the front gate to collect these. Please see below.

Lastly, please can we remind parents that if you are sending in any correspondence to the school it would be really helpful if you could include your child’s class, along with their name. Thank you.

Have a lovely weekend.
The Hayes Team
