Week Beginning 13th July 2015
I really cannot believe it is the last week of term already, time has really flown by this term.
Firstly our Jump Rope for Heart on Friday was an enormous success, many thanks to Mr Blundell for organising this. Huge thanks to the Year 5 and Year 6 children who led the activities and ensured the children had a great time. If the children could bring all the money in by Wednesday next week, that would be greatly appreciated.
Also here is some advanced notice of Kenley fun day, on 26th July, which is a local community day that is held every other year on Kenley Common. The event has been running for 8 years and is open to everyone from the Kenley, Whtyeleafe, Purley, Caterham areas. It is a non-profit making group and nearly all activities on the day are free (with an optional donation bucket) so as to make it as inclusive as possible, people being encouraged to bring a picnic. It is a very uncommercial event, so no pitches are sold. Previous years attendances have been up to 3,500+ so it has grown to be a very popular local event. Should you wish for any further information please see the Facebook link below for some of the details.

On Thursday 16th July we invite all Year 6 parents to see their children’s leavers performance of Robin Hood in the school hall. We thank Miss Cumming and Mr Raffield for all of their hard work helping their classes prepare for the performance and hope that the children all enjoy the experience. We also thank all staff at the school for all of their endless hard work to make The Hayes such a fantastic school for the children. We are sad to say goodbye to Mr Blundell, Mr Raffield and Miss Schoeffer . We thank them for all of the wonderful teaching and hard work they have contributed to The Hayes over the Years, especially Mr Blundell’s commitment to developing and improving our Sports Provision, Mr Raffield for his development of Mathematics and Computing and the incredible job Miss Schoeffer has done in leading the Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 team in Mrs Farr’s absence this year alongside her continued development of Art and phonics teaching.
