Week Beginning 12.3.18
WB 12/3/18
I hope you have all recovered from the snow and many thanks to those of you who sent Miss Slade snow fun photos for our Twitter feed. Much fun was had; however we are all now pleased the snow has left us!
A week behind (due to the snow), we concluded Book Week on Friday with our sharing assembly where all classes read out their poems and spoke about their favourite books. Additionally, all children stopped work to read in another class. Dress Up day on Tuesday was fun as well – massive congrats to all those who turned into their favourite book character, everyone looked fantastic! There are photos on the Gallery (on our website) of this great day.
Class 4 put on their assembly demonstrating why reading is so important and I am sure that all of the parents/carers that attended were in awe of the books that the children were reading. Well done Class 4!

Message from the office:
Texts: over the next few weeks, we will have a reduction in letter characters due to changes with external systems. It will be resolved by w/c 19th March when everything will return to normal.
Scholastics Book club continues, should you wish to order an order, please visit http;//schools.scholatic.co.uk/the-hayes For every £1 you spend, our school will earn 25p in Scholastic Rewards, please place your order online by 23rd April 2018. In addition there will be a Scholastic Book Fair starting Monday 19th March until Wednesday 21st March in the ICT suite. Please come and browse the shelves as every book sold raises money for our school to buy books and resources for our classrooms.
Please remember that school closes at the following times: 3:05pm for EYFS and KS1 and 3:10pm for KS2. Several children are being picked up late and regularly. If this continues they will be placed in after school club and you will be charged for this service. Teaching staff run boosters and clubs after school and office staff are working – they cannot continue to look after children until parents (etc) pick them up (sometimes not until 3:40pm). Of course, sometimes emergencies happen and this is understood, please do call the office if this is the case. The times of school closing are as above – please do be on time and many thanks to the many of you who are.
Here’s to a great week ahead and we look forward to seeing our many mothers tomorrow for our Mother’s Day Breakfast.
