Week Beginning 27th April

Here’s what is coming up next week….

Thank you to all of those parents who brought in ‘Phil the bag’.  We received an overwhelming volume of donations, which should greatly assist the school.  Thank you.

On Monday 27th April some of our Year 5 children will be attending an art workshop event at Warlingham Secondary School.

On Wednesday 29th April we invite all parents across the school to attend curriculum meetings with their class teachers.  These meetings last for 30 minutes and will be a useful way for you to find out more about what your child is learning in school, tailored to your child’s year group, with a special focus on the operations in mathematics.  We really encourage you to come along.  These will take place in the classrooms as follows…

Reception: 3.30pm      Rainforest
Year 1: 4.00 pm          Class 1
Year 2: 4.30 pm          Class 3
Year 3: 5.00 pm          Class 5
Year 4: 5.30 pm          Class 7
Year 5: 6.00 pm          Class 9
Year 6: 6.30 pm          Class 11

Please don’t forget we will have tea and coffee available for parents who may need to wait for another meeting but may not want to go home in between.

On Thursday 30th April our Year3/4 children are taking part in a mini tennis tournament at Purley Bury during the afternoon, we wish them the best of luck.

Also on Thursday some children will be taking part in the UK Junior Maths Challenge – details to follow.

On Thursday 30th our ‘The Hayes has got Talent’ finals will kick off at 6.00pm, in the school hall.  If your child has already entered our talent competition, they will be sent a text message as soon as the judges have made their decision that will inform them if they are taking part in the final. We are so proud of all of the children who have confidently auditioned; they have impressed us with their talents and the decision has been a difficult one.   In assembly today an announcement was made to those children whose audition was successful and parents will be informed over the weekend.  If your child is performing on Wednesday evening, they will need to be at school by 5.30pm in order to prepare for their act.  All families at the school are welcome to attend, whether you have children performing or not. We are really looking forward to enjoying a fabulous evening of entertainment, celebrating our children’s amazing wealth of talents.  Refreshments will be available to purchase and please bring small change for our fundraising raffle.

On Friday 1st May we are delighted that Class 1 will be leading our school assembly.  If you have a child in Mrs Meadows class you are welcome to join us in the school hall for 10.15am.
