Week beginning 8th September 2025
What a wonderful first week we have had in school! The children have settled so well into their new classes and have really impressed us with their readiness to learn. In assembly this morning we thought about new beginnings and reflected on the many things we wanted to achieve this year to help us ‘be the best we can be’. We reminded everybody about our school rules and the importance of being Ready, Respectful and Safe at all times. We have also enjoyed meeting lots of our new reception starters on their visits (one more group on Monday next week) and can’t wait to welcome them full time from Tuesday 9th September 2025.
The girls’ football team trials take place next week on Tuesday after school. These trials are open to children in Years 5 and 6 only. Netball trials take place after school on Wednesday and these are open to boys and girls in Year 5 and 6. To participate in these trials, please register your interest on ParentPay so we can get an idea of numbers.
Please can we remind you to make sure that all uniform is labelled. If items are named, we can usually get lost items returned to their rightful owners. There will be a preloved uniform sale on the playground next Friday the 12th September where you can purchase good quality items for low prices.
The first PTA event of the school year is coming up. There will be a school disco for the children in years 1-6. This will take place on will be on Friday 10th October. Tickets will go on sale from Monday 8th at 10am and sales will close on Monday 6th October t 10pm. A drink and a snack will be provided for children in Years 1 and 2 and a tuck shop will run for children in Years 3-6. Hotdogs can be preordered when you buy your ticket. Tickets can be purchased using the following link: The Hayes PTA The children in Reception will have a mini disco in their classrooms at the end of the day (no need for a change of clothes).
Thank you for your help with our new drop off locations for children in KS1 this week. Establishing this routine now will really help us when the building works begin.
We hope you have all enjoyed the first week back as much as we have and wish you all a lovely weekend.
