Week beginning 7th July 2025

Week beginning Monday 7th July 2025

¡Hola amigos! We kick off the week with an exciting Spanish Day! Children will immerse themselves in Spanish traditions through practical speaking and listening activities, including learning the Paso Doble dance with a professional instructor. They will also explore Spanish art, visit role-play stations like a café, hospital, and travel agent. Children are encouraged to wear red and yellow outfits inspired by the Spanish flag and can choose to have a Spanish flag face painting during break time. Special thanks to Mrs. Burbeary, our MfL co-ordinator, for organising this fun event. We look forward to sharing photos on the website soon.

On Wednesday next week, we look forward to welcoming our new reception starters to a picnic event from 1:45pm on the school field. We are looking forward to meeting our new starters and anticipate that it will be a joyful, fun-filled afternoon. If you are attending, please be sure to bring your data collection forms if you have not handed these in already.

On Thursday, the children in Year 4 are heading out on their visit to Beddington Park. I am sure the children will have a great time and be fantastic ambassadors for our school.

The Croydon Schools Sports Partnership (CSSP) will be in school on Thursday to support our children in Year 5 to complete their leadership training where they will be learning how to lead play across the school with younger children (year 3). We love giving our children opportunities to support one another in all aspects of school life.

On Friday, your child will be given a copy of their school reports to bring home to you. We are so proud of all that they have achieved this year and hope that you will be too. If your child has had a statutory assessment this year (Yr R, Yr 1, Yr 2 retakes, Yr 4 and Yr 6), their results will also be included with their reports. When you have read the school report, please can we ask that you fill in the parent feedback sheet and return this to school before the end of term to acknowledge safe receipt. On Friday, your children will also have a session with their new class teacher for next year. We will also send you an email to let you know who each class will be taught by in the new academic year.

Lastly, please can I remind all parents and carers to park responsibly demonstrating consideration for our neighbours and local residents. I am still receiving a number of complaints from unhappy residents who are reporting that their driveways are frequently being blocked by parents dropping off and picking up their children. Please support us in maintaining positive relationships with our wider community and refrain from doing this. Thank you for your support with this matter.

Have a lovely weekend.
