Week beginning 30th June 2025
Thank you so much to all those who joined us last week for our fantastic events. Year 4 impressed us with their musical abilities during the Soundstart concert. Children from across the school demonstrated confidence and skill in the Music is Magic concert. We saw grit and determination from some of our KS2 children in the Croydon athletics tournament (boys’ heats, girls’ heats, and finals). Additionally, on Friday, we had our whole school Sports Day, which was incredibly well supported. Congratulations to Johnson (Green team) in KS2 and Ashcroft (Yellow) in KS1, who were this year’s trophy winners!
Next week, we are expecting higher temperatures once more. Please ensure your children are protected from the sun by applying a long-lasting sun cream before school, and by providing a sun hat and water bottle. Children will be permitted and encouraged to refill their bottles from the water coolers located around the school. You may also want to remind children that shade is available under our gazebos and that they can access the Indoor Calm Club if they feel too warm in the playground.
This week, the children in Year 1 will be having a hearing test at school. Any concerns raised will be shared directly with you by the school nursing team.
Aspens, our caterers, will be hosting our annual picnic event on Tuesday. There will be a red and green option only, as outlined in the email sent about this event.
Science workshops will continue across the week to inspire a love of scientific exploration!
On Friday, many of the children in Year 6 will have their Induction Day at their new secondary schools. We wish them the best of luck as they begin this exciting next stage of their education.
We hope you have had a wonderful weekend. Thank you for your ongoing support.
