Week beginning 24th November 2025

Thank you to all those who supported our Road Safety week in school this week. We were very impressed with the children’s efforts to ‘be safe and be seen’ by decorating their bags. As part of this initiative, please can we urge all parents and carers to take extra care when driving and parking around the school. Recently, we have received an increasing number of concerns from local residents and families about unsafe parking and traffic behaviours during drop-off and pick-up times.

To help keep all of our children safe, please can we ask everyone to:

  • Park only in legitimate parking spaces and avoid double yellow lines, corners, pavements, and the zebra crossing area.
  • Do not stop on the main road to let children in or out of the car.
  • Avoid reversing into busy roads, and ensure visibility is clear before moving off.
  • Keep driveways, garages, and access areas clear, including areas marked with cones.
  • Allow extra time in the morning and afternoon so that drop-off and pick-up can be done safely and without pressure.
  • Be patient and considerate with other road users, residents, and each other. Our children learn from the behaviour they see.

We appreciate your support in ensuring the area around the school remains safe, respectful, and accessible for everyone. Thank you for helping us keep our community safe at all times.

On Monday, the children will be having a special assembly to raise awareness of neurodiversity in school. This is part of our PINS project (Partnership for Inclusion of Neurodiversity in Schools) and it aims to help children understand what neuro diversity is and encourage them to reflect on how we can work together to ensure all children in our school feel seen, understood and included. Croydon Active voices are also leading a parent engagement event on Friday 28th where they would love to meet you. This event is open to all (your child does not need to be on the SEND register for you to attend) and will begin at 9:30. Do come along to share your feedback and ideas, if you are able.

Good luck to the girls’ football team who have a match against Kenley at home on Monday after school. We are sure they will be the best they can be. Likewise, our boys’ team who have an away match versus Harris Kenley on Friday.

On Monday evening, we are hosting the last of our Reception open events for our September 2026 starters. This will begin at 6:00pm in the school hall to accommodate working parents who have not been able to attend the open morning.

On Tuesday 25th, the children in Year 4 are heading out to the Hindu temple to support their learning in RE. We are sure they will be wonderful ambassadors for this visit. If you have not yet made your £1 donation for this visit, please can we remind you to do so.

The school nursing team will be joining us to administer the flu vaccine to those whose parents have given their consent.

On Friday, we invite you into school for our open afternoon. This is an opportunity for parents to visit your children in their classrooms and spend some time looking at their learning from the autumn term. Doors open at 1:45, we would love for you to join us to celebrate your children’s wonderful achievements.

Thank you for your ongoing support.
