Week beginning 22nd September 2025
Thank you to everybody for supporting our Jeans for Genes event today. Together we have raised £209 for this charity and raised awareness of those living with genetic differences, promoting kindness and tolerance of those who may appear different from ourselves. If you are yet to donate to this charity and wish to do so, this is will still be available as a payment item on ParentPay for a short while.
Throughout next week we will be sending some of our gifted and talented sportspeople from KS2 to special events at Trinity and Croydon High where they will have the opportunity to participate in some exciting sporting events. If your child has been selected, you will have already received an invitation to these events.
Wednesday the 24th is World Fitness day and we request that all children wear their PE kits to school. To remind all families, PE Kits are plain, dark jogging bottoms or shorts with a plain white round neck T-shirt. This can be accompanied by a plain grey sweatshirt or a logo grey sweatshirt. Please do ensure your children are wearing the correct kit. If you require support in obtaining school uniform, please do speak to us and we will be happy to assist. On this day, all children will be taking part in some exciting sporting events that promote physical activity and healthy and active lifestyles.
On Friday, it is National TA day. We are so lucky to have such a strong and dedicated team of support staff at The Hayes. We thank them for all they do and the contribution they make to our children’s education.
To keep you updated, our swimming pool is currently in need of repairs which, in the interest of transparency, are proving to be very costly. We have come up with a plan to block the work into phases, and the aim of phase one is to get us up and running again as quickly as possible. The pool has been drained and we have contractors on site from next week to begin the repair works which involve drilling new holes in the pool allowing us to run new inlets to bring fresh water into the pool. Once these works have been carried out, the pool will be refilled and reheated. At the moment, our aim is to be up and running again from the beginning to mid-October, with all being well. We are so sorry for the interruption to your children’s swimming lessons and thank you for your understanding.
As a final reminder, please can I ask you to park considerately at drop off and pick ups. We are receiving a number of complaints from local residents about parents parking across drive ways and garages when dropping their children off at school. Please do help us to maintain positive relationships with our neighbours and community by avoiding these behaviours. Thank you so much.
Have a lovely weekend.
The Hayes team.
