Week beginning 13th October 2025
Week beginning Monday 13th October 2025
Today we had a fun day in school supporting Hello Yellow and the charity Young Minds who help children experiencing mental health difficulties. The children had an assembly led by some of our Year 5 mental health champions to remind them of all the ways they can get help if they are not feeling okay. With your support, we raised £96 for this charity. Thank you.
Today is also disco day and the children have been looking forward to this event. Thank you to our PTA and all our parent volunteers who made this fun opportunity possible for our children.
On Monday next week (13th) our school photographer will be visiting to take individual and sibling photos only. Only siblings attending The Hayes will be photographed. ALL children should come to school wearing their full school uniform please. If it is your child’s usual PE day, please pack their trainers in their bags.
On Tuesday, we will be hosting a parent workshop for parents of children in Year 6 to find out more about the statutory assessments that the children will be sitting in May. If you would like to learn more about what will be tested and when, please come along to the school hall for a 9:10am start. There will be an opportunity to view past papers and ask any questions that you may have.
Also, on Tuesday, the girls football team have a cup match versus Castle Hill (away). We wish them the best of luck.
On Wednesday, the children in Class 9 will be leading our whole school assembly. If you have a child in this class and you wish to join us, please come to the hall for a 9:10am start. We hope to see you there. We will also be visited in school by Palace for Life who will be leading ‘No room for racism’ workshops for the children in Years 4, 5 and 6.
On Thursday, the school nursing team will be carrying out the Year 6 height and weight checks. Results of these checks will be communicated directly with you via the NHS team.
On Friday, the children in Year 4 will be visiting the Rainforest…with a very exciting workshop coming into school. This will involve a transformation of our IT suite, opportunities to dress up and chances to meet real animals and artefacts to enhance their geographical knowledge. Look out for photos on the website following the event.
On Friday evening (17th October), at 6pm, the booking system for our upcoming parents’ evenings will go live. For those of you who are new to the school, we run a hybrid model where, over the course of 2 nights you can book either a face to face appointment or a video call with your child’s teacher. The dates are as follows:
Tuesday 11th November: EYFS and KS1 on line/ KS2 in person
Thursday 13th November: KS2 online/ EYFS and KS1 in person
Appointments will be allocated on a first come first serve basis. We will send a reminder email containing booking instructions to all families at the beginning of next week.
Have a wonderful weekend.
