Week beginning Monday 17th October

Thank you all for your generous donations for our Harvest Festival! These will be split between 2 charities: Night Watch and The Purley Food Hub. At our Harvest assembly, led by Reverend Chris, the children were surprised to discover that there are people in our immediate community in need of our help. They were proud to be making a difference to those less fortunate than ourselves so thanks once again for enabling this to happen.

As we enter the final week of this half term, here’s what’s coming up…

On Tuesday the 18th we will be working in collaboration with some Year 11 pupils from Woldingham school on a programme called Thrive. 3 or 4 girls will be visiting a range of classes across the school for a couple of hours to support children’s learning and to learn more about working in a Primary school. They will also be leading some playground games for the children during break time. We look forward to working with them!

Year 4 have an exciting day ahead at the V&A museum where they will continue to learn more about their topic ‘Fashion’. We are sure they will have great fun!

On Wednesday we have our open morning at 10:30 for new Reception starters hoping to join us in September 2017. If you would like to attend please phone the office to book yourself a slot.

On Thursday morning Mrs Olley will be hosting a meeting at 9:00 to parents of children in Year 2 to discuss the KS1 SATs that will be taking place in the summer term. For parents that cannot make this event, the presentation will be emailed to all Year 2 parents following the event.

Year 4 will be hosting their fashion show on Wednesday at 2:20 in the hall to which parents of children in class 7 and 8 are invited to attend. Look out for photos on our school Twitter feed.

On Friday we break up for half term at normal time. The PTA Infant fun afternoon and Junior disco will be taking place after school.  We thank them for the effort that goes into organising such great events for our children.

Drama club will be in the music room on Friday instead of the Hall.

We wish you all a restful half term break and thank you for your support over this half term.

May we remind you that Monday October 31st is an INSET day and school will be closed to the children. We look forward to welcoming you all back on Tuesday 1st November.
