Week beginning 11th June 2018

WB 11.6.18

Welcome back to our Y6 cohort who had an amazing time on the Isle of Wight making memories. If your child went, I am sure they have been filling you in on the many activities, fun and laughter (I know there was much laughter!) Many thanks to the staff (Ms Spinks. Ms Harman, Ms Lee, Ms Bolton and Ms Slade) who went on the residential with the children - it could not have happened without them. The photos will be uploaded to our website soon but in the meantime if you have missed the wonderful collages of the week, please do visit our Twitter account: @TheHayesPrimary

This week we were lucky to have a visit from a Commonwealth athlete- Peter Bakare who was brilliant with the children and really enthused them in their challenges. Well done to all of the children who took part. On Thursday we learnt about recycling when a member of the council came along to talk to the children about how they can contribute.

Next week is Phonic Screening for Y1 and those children who are retaking from Y2. The PTA will be running their Fathers’ day gift event in the ICT room on Monday. On Tuesday, Riddlesdown are coming in to talk to our pupils who will be starting there in September. Class 5 are performing their assembly on Wednesday at 9.15am in the hall, parents are invited to attend. There is a mini marathon taking place at Beaumont on Thursday, you will told if your child is taking part.
