Week beginning Monday 20th January 2025
Happy Friday! Well done to our girls’ football team who won their match yesterday 6-1. Well done also to our athletics team who made us proud by finishing 8th out of a competition that included 48 Croydon primary schools. Great effort from all.
Next week, we are hosting our SEND coffee morning at 9:00am. If you would like to come along and meet our new SENCO Mrs Barreiro, we would love to see you there. We will also be joined by a representative from Croydon Active Voices which is an organisation that supports parents of children with special education needs. We welcome you along to discuss any worries or concerns that you may have, even if your child does not have a diagnosed additional need. Our SEND team will be on hand to talk to you. This event will take place in the Music room so come to the main office to be let in.
Class 1 will be leading our assembly on Wednesday. If you have a child in this class and wish to come along, please join us in the hall for a 9:10am start. In the afternoon, the children in Year 6 will be participating in the Junior Citizenship scheme which is a programme to teach them about travelling safely, with secondary transfer in mind. This will also take place in the school hall.
There is a boys’ football match against New Valley (away) after school on Wednesday and a girls’ netball match against Smitham (away) on Thursday. We wish both teams the best of luck and know that they will be the best they can be.
On Friday, there is a meeting for parents of children in Year 5 about the upcoming residential to Carroty Wood. This will start straight after school and take place in the hall. Children are welcome to join you at this event so please do come along if you can.
Please can we remind you to name your children’s uniform. Today, we have collected many unnamed items to donate to the preloved uniform collection from the autumn term. If your child’s clothing is marked with their name, it will get returned to them. Thank you.
Finally, good news, our swimming pool is up and running once more and lessons will resume next week. We are starting with even number classes, so please make sure the children have their kits on their swim day. Thank you so much for your patience and understanding while the necessary works were carried out.
Have a great weekend.
