Week beginning Monday 24th June 2024
Well done to the children in Rainforest who led their first class assembly this week all about people who help us. They performed with great confidence and demonstrated some wonderful knowledge about some of the many people that they can call upon when they need help.
Well done also to the children who represented our school in the Croydon athletics this week. We have several children that have qualified for tonight’s finals and we wish them the best of luck. Win or lose, they have been wonderful ambassadors of our school, thank you!
Next week, on Wednesday, the children in Year 6 will have their photographs taken in their hoodies for their Year 6 leavers book. Please ensure they have them in school.
The children in class 4 will be hosting their class assembly on Thursday 27th June at 9:10 in the school hall. If you have a child in this class and wish to join us, we would love to see you there.
Also on Thursday, we will be hosting our Music is Magic concert in the evening at 6pm. If you have a child performing in this event, you are invited to attend. There will be a rehearsal during the day so please do ensure that children have their instruments in school.
We are hoping to host our Sports day on Friday 28th with KS2 children in the morning (9:20am start) and KS1 and EYFS in the afternoon (1:30pm start). This is weather dependent and we will update you if, for any reason, we are not able to go ahead. Your children are invited to wear a T-shirt in their team colours with their usual PE kit bottoms. Please ensure that all children have a water bottle in school that they can bring outside with them. If the weather is sunny, please also ensure your child has adequate sun protection and a sun hat if required. We look forward to welcoming you and hearing you cheering on the children as they participate.
On Saturday 29th June we are hosting our school Summer Fair between 12:00 and 3:00pm. This is always a fantastic event that brings our community together for lots of fun. Past pupils come back to see us and new starters join us as they become members of our school family. Feedback from last year’s event was that families wanted to see a wider range of stalls. We have organised these for this year so there is more for children and families to do but we are currently running the risk of having to pull some of these stalls due to a lack of volunteers to help run them. If you are able to volunteer even as little as 30 minutes of your time at this event, please do sign up on the doodle polls that have been sent out. All offers of help are very much appreciated and we thank you in advance for this.
Have a wonderful weekend. Enjoy the sunshine!
