The National Curriculum

At The Hayes Primary School we are committed to delivering the National Curriculum. Staff have worked hard to revise schemes of work to bring them in line with the new expectations and the topic webs that can be found within this section illustrate these changes. All staff have received training in the developments and changes within the 2014 Curriculum. Throughout this coming year, the new schemes of work will be continually reviewed to ensure that they provide opportunities for children to develop the skills they require to become life-long learners.

Changes to the curriculum for each year group are outlined during the termly Departmental Meetings, held within the first 2 weeks of each term. A yearly overview for each year group is currently being prepared and this will be displayed on this page after the February half term. If you would like further information about the curriculum your child is receiving, please do contact the class teacher in the first instance or the Departmental Leader who will be happy to answer your queries.

Please see below for a useful document written for parents, outlining the key changes in the National Curriculum (2014).

All of our staff are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
