Week Beginning 21st January 2019

Congratulations to all the children who have represented the school in sporting events this weekend. Children from Years 3-6 participated in a sponsored swim at Croydon High yesterday (Saturday 19th) between them, swimming many lengths! It is not too late to sponsor them using the following link: www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/the-hayes-primary-pool
We also congratulate the team who took part in the cross country event at Woodcote yesterday morning! More updates on these events to follow shortly. Well done to the children, parents and staff involved!

Coming up this week...

This week is the start of History Week where we are focusing on our local history. The children will enjoy a range of workshops including storytelling, dance and music. They will also be carrying out research on some local famous people. Be prepared to be wowed with a host of factual information from the past! On Friday, to conclude this week, the children may attend school dressed as a figure from history if they so choose.

On Monday we are hosting our Year 5 coffee morning to parents. If your child is in either Miss Smith or Mrs Boylan's class please do come along to the school hall for a 9:00 start to find out what is coming up this term in Year 5.

On Tuesday we host the last of our spring term coffee mornings for the parents and carers of children in Year 6. Please come along to the school hall at 9:00 to find out what is happening this term in Year 6.

On Wednesday, Class 9 will be leading our assembly. If your child is in this class we invite you to join us for this event which starts in the school hall at 9:15.

On Thursday we wish good luck to the children who are taking part in the Croydon School's Swimming Gala at Purley Pool. We are sure they will do their best making us proud and show everyone how hard they work to `Be the Best they can Be!'

Have a great weekend.

All of our staff are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
